It offers a brief biography with examples of experiences and interests that influenced the particular style of each artist featured. Each section is followed by questions intended to promote higher level thinking than simple identification of facts. Art activities are suggested that result in projects that resemble the style of each artist. Projects use media that are easy to obtain and work with. Students create their own art in the style of the artist rather than making a copy of something. At the end if the book there are additional resources and vocabulary lists. I think the material can be used for a variety of age-groups. The illustrations are in black and white. I would have given it a 5 if there were more illustrations of the artists' work.
